A Prince So Cruel by Ingrid Seymour
5.0
Wow! I'm absolutely stunned and in love with this book! It reminded me so much of ACOTAR in every way and brought back that warm feeling of comfort while reading this. This series can very well be a new comfort read for me. And I found out its a spin off series so please excuse me while I go read those now!
A Prince So Cruel follows Dani, a Human Healer who thinks she just a nobody living life day by day. She loves her job at the children hospital and looks forward to going to work to help the little ones. One day she goes into the Fae Realm, Elfhame, to get some ingredients and gets kidnapped on her way back home. They swear she has a purpose, and they need her but all she kept thinking is that why would they need a nobody like her, especially someone not from their realm. But low and behold they need her because she possesses a skill that no other heal possesses; something dark. And who you might say ordered the kidnapping, no other than Prince Kalyll.
The Prince, Dani and a group of trusted soldiers now travel the realm on a mission that is considered high importance. They of course won't tell her what it is right away but none the less she doesn't care. All she wants is to go home. After a failed attempt at escaping, she gives up and decides to just get the mission over with as soon as possible so she can return back to her life. There's no use in fighting them anymore. But little did she realize that this group will grow on her and become like her family.
This Beauty and the Beast retelling is perfect for fans of ACOTAR. The tension between Dani and Kalyll is agonizing but I found myself loving it. As I'm reading, I'm like will this finally be the moment and cheer or will there be more comedic relief and the moment gets ruined. But either way I was captivated by this book and can't wait for book 2. And that cliffhanger though.....
Thank you so much Ingrid Seymour for an ARC Copy of A Prince So Cruel. I appreciate it so much and loved every second of this book.
