The Boy With The Bookstore by Sarah Echavarre Smith

3.0

I think I had high expectations for this one because we have a bookstore owner x baker meets grumpy x sunshine which are two compatible pairings.

And for a while it worked really well except when Max Boyson and Joelle Prima decided to take things to the next level and their clashing personality became a bit destructive resulting to them hurting each other’s more often than not.

I am always a fan of MCs talking about their past experiences and baggages and it’s progressive to see men who are not emotionally-deprived but for me, it’s borderline trigerring if the love interest start to show a pattern where they love you one moment and then get mad after a while.

I know that it’s part of Max Boyson’s tragic backstory but the way he treated Joelle Prima still doesn’t sit right with me. Again, our emotion is valid but we are responsible for the impact of our action. 3stars.
