"He was moody, like rainy days and bitter coffee. Sensual whispers in dark corners and the slow burn of fine whiskey" - Nocticadia by Keri Lake

I mean, what exactly do you want me to say? Just read this freaking book; go get it now. I don't care where you get it; just go find it and read it! (Said in Professor Bramwell's steaming hot, commanding, and demanding voice) π₯π₯π . Nocticadia is a dark academia, gothic romance with a side of fantasy and thriller. Literal perfection π
Nocticadia is incredibly atmospheric for being what it is. It gave me all the feels; there was one point I almost gagged because of how descriptive Keri Lake's writing is. The world-building is beautiful; it's not too much and not too little. I can easily picture Dracadia, Lilia's apartment, and Professor Bramwell's office, lab, and classes. The pace of the book is perfect. The plot is on point. The ending of this book is genius; I literally gasped; it was absolute perfection!
I will be thinking about these characters for a long time after I put down this book, that's how well Keri Lake's Nocticadia characters were written and developed throughout the book. Lilia is a literary anomaly from what I've seen most often written lately for FMCs. Her character makes this book different, and it's a breath of fresh air. She's commanding, she's strong, she's smart and savvy, she knows what she's after and goes after it with a fierceness that absolutely nothing will stand in her way, though she is not fearless she still gets it done. Then there's Professor Devryck Bramwell π₯΅, who's the perfect possessive book boyfriendβnot even a touch her and π, but like touch her and I'll t0rtu&3 until you beg me to let you π. He is a mixture of grumpy, demanding, commanding, and confident, a guy who's used to getting what he wants with a touch of jealousy in all the right spots that makes it swoon worthy.
If you haven't noticed already, I absolutely recommend picking up this book. I don't think it's possible to be disappointed by this story! I cannot wait to read it again.
