One of the few books that has made me cry out loud. so good! !! So, this is a son's reminiscences of his father growing up. His dad, a Methodist minister had some adventures in clashing with the congregations of the various churches he served at. Having gone to small Baptist congregations all my life growing up, I know all about church politics and MAN does this book bring back memories. It's how you know it's true when you can just swap out years and names and the stories are the same haha. Sadly, sweet harmony doesn't come naturally to us sinful men, and when you're the dowager duchess or chairman of the board of the congregation and have had ministers kowtowing to you for the last 30 years, change doesn't come easily haha.
