Guide Me Home by Attica Locke
3.5
Gripping but while I enjoyed the narrative surrounding Darren's relationship with his mother, I felt like it came at the expense of the "mystery", which is kind of why I wanted to read the novel in the first place. My other critiques are that the story wrapped up too abruptly and, while possibly intentional, the theme of the "Black Republican" felt unresolved and discordant at the end of the book.
