Dr. Grissom was the vice president of student affairs at Trinity University. This is a collection of some of her many, many speeches that she delivered during her 50-plus years of service to the university and to the city of San Antonio. While her words at time became repetitive, her wisdom is what shines through. I was especially thankful that she included her highly-charged speech after the death of a freshman fraternity pledge, an event that occurred during my sophomore year. Dr. Grissom’s love for the students and concern for their well-being was always central in her life. She passed away in early 2024 and I’m looking forward to being part of her book club in heaven.
