for some reason i thought this book was a classic??? so color me surprised when i looked it up and it came out in 2020. like what?? this is practically historical fiction in the way that it perfectly harnessed living in 1997, even though that was a decade before i was alive. casey's struggles hit home for me (another struggling writer) who fears what the future will look like if i choose to pursue it as a career. seeing her life really come together in the end was hopecore at its finest
