Okay, I'll admit, I was skeptical. My daughter recommended it and I thought, "eh." It sounded like a great storyline, but my gaming days are over and there are so many other books to read.

Then I saw it on the library shelf and thought, "why not." And it's coming to theaters and my plan is always to read the book first...

Holy lord!!! It was wonderful! I'll admit, it started a bit slowly for me. But he had a lot of explaining to do. And when it kicked in, I couldn't put it down. I stayed awake longer than I wanted to. I gave up on other pursuits. I devoured the last 150 pages as quickly as I could, yet trying to savor it because I knew it was ending at page 372...

The 80s references, the old games I played as a child, young adult, older adult, the plot, the implications for today's political climate, the power of good versus evil, the classic boy meets avatar...

It's all there and it won't disappoint. At least it didn't for me.
