Brooklyn Cross is a new author to me. I haven’t read any of her previous books but after reading this book, I’m definitely going to look at her previous books. In this book we have Nathaniel and Savannah who had a relationship that ended badly, so it’s a second chance romance (my favorite).
Savannah works for the FBI and Nathaniel’s family is in the mafia. When they broke up Nathan told her not to contact him anymore, even though he was still madly in love with her. Well Savannah left the relationship with a baby. It’s now 5+ plus years since they ended and Nathan finds out that there is a hit on Savannah and his son (of which he had no knowledge). Nathan swoops in and saves the day and forces Savannah to marry him. His father is livid, his mother overjoyed and Nathan is extremely upset that he has missed so much of his son’s life. I loved these two characters together. There was obviously strong love and passion between them they unfortunately just happen to be on opposite sides of the law. Savannah is a wonderful mother to Cutter and how she didn’t expect Nathan to find out when she put his name on the birth certificate is beyond me. Cutter is extremely possessive, a great father and madly in love with Savannah. This story had action, mystery, and lots of spicy moments. This was a great fast paced story that keep me entertained.
