I can’t say that this book is bad. It creates dynamic characters that are deeply flawed and interesting to watch. The prose is lovely, even if a bit slow. However, I was not hooked by the plot, not attached to any of the characters, and disappointed with the trajectory of their entanglement. There are brief moments of brilliant emotion and humanity in this, so I can’t write it off. It also is by no means bad! I do know that I would never read it again or recommend it to anyone, though. Simply wasn’t written for me.
