the writing in this book was good (especially for a debut) and the distinct character studies of the twelve women were interesting and reminded me of the structure of how high we go in the dark. but i cared a lot about the mystery aspect of the novel surrounding the disappearance of the two girls, which i don't feel was adequately concluded. i can't keep dealing with these ambiguous book endings being described as "satisfying," i'm not strong enough!!
