Really beautiful imagery and heart breaking scenes throughout, but ultimately struggled to find a plot in the relationship with the human characters and the magical realism characters. Once the spirit characters enter the fold, it becomes harder to finish the book, which starts to feel slower and slower despite the poetic imagery, which to me felt like it slowed the pace of the book even more.
