Such a great book!
In the beginning of the story, I couldn’t really tell what was going on nor how it would progress. Once the “format” of the story telling became apparent I got immediately hooked, specially by the one comment from the grandmother: don’t believe a word she is telling you.
Speaking directly to the reader in this way just took me a little by surprise.
I was very curious about the nature of the house, how it came to be and how it remained.
I am only sorry the book wasn’t longer as I would have been interested in seeing all the other possible stories.
I might read it in the original language as so much gets lost in translation and I just have a feeling this book has so so so much more to offer in the original tongue!
Highly recommend.
Thank you penquin randomhouse for the review copy!
