The Pirate's Wish by Cassandra Rose Clarke

5.0

Once again, Cassandra Rose Clarke successfully tugged at my heartstrings. There were lumps in my throat, tears in my eyes, and a heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach as the unresolved sexual tension between Annana and Naji wore on.

And oh my god that manticore. I love her. She is my favorite literary character right now. I don't care if she's a manticore. I want her as a pet. I would gladly rake my fingers through the knots in her mane and feed her manflesh just so she will call me 'girl-human' and give me boons and act as an unwanted wing-woman.

The first book, The Assassin's Curse, was kinda meh, but Clarke really stepped up on this one. I'm actually sad there isn't any more. The first book of hers that I read, The Mad Scientist's Daughter, left me with that same empty and longing feeling when I reached the end. I want MORE!
