Slay is so great.

I wish the game was real because I would slay all day. The fictional game itself is a beauty. It's just steeped in black history and culture. If you pay attention you will learn some things, I sure did. This book did a great job of highlighting that black doesn't look any one way. Black people are different and love and appreciate so many different things that make some stereotypes comical. I also absolutely loved that we get snippets of into the lives of other characters POV who slay. It shows what having a space to be unapologetically themselves means to them and that it spans different ages. The choice in the villain!! That was so very clever in showing double standards within a community. This book was excellent. The audio cast did a brilliant job.

This was a fast paced, enjoyable, and sends the message that every shade of black is black enough.
