There are definitely things that don't quite work here, some things are too easy and left of center, but I didn't hate the book all the same. Maybe that's just the kind of book you get when the writer needs a break from the pain and the fear consuming the world and his thoughts and it does what it's meant to for the reader and the one who wrote it. Fairy Tale offers a patch of peace in a roaring storm but not so much you forget there's still a storm inside and out to be gotten through. That's good enough for me.
