This book started strong, then seemed predictable, then seemed very interesting until its very abrupt end. I wish there had been more time spent tying up loose ends in the present day in the story’s last chapter than going back in time to explain what happened.

I also want to note that the epilogue is VERY graphic. I’m someone who listens to many murder mysteries and crime novels, but the epilogue made me very uneasy. Maybe that’s a testament to the author being a good writer, but as a reader, it was a lot to leave on.
