Me picking this up for a third time this year was not on my bingo board but I'm not complaining!

I just really needed to read something heartfelt today and this ticked all the boxes for me.

Truly the most contemporary feeling fantasy book I've ever read and if I could inject it into my bloodstream, believe me, I would have already done so by now.

For a book that deals with such complex topics, this really shouldn't be as comforting and heartwarming as it is, but here I am absolutely dying over these characters again.

“Your voice is a weapon. Never forget that.”

This was the most wonderful mix of the weirdness and totally self-awareness of Welcome To Nightvale and the goofiness of Hotel Transylvania all in one and I loved every second of it! It's written in a very middle-grade way, but TJ Klune never talks down to their audience and I loved them for that. I loved the characters and how they grew as we got to know them and I loved seeing Linus come into himself as a person too. Honestly, the writing was fantastic and so descriptive, and the characters were fantastic (yes, even the antichrist) and I truly cannot wait to read whatever TJ Klune comes out with next!
