All I Want is You by Falon Ballard
4.0
Sometimes you just need a sweet and spicy second chance holiday romance. That’s what Falon Ballard serves up with All I Want Is You.
Nick and Jess (yes yes) were critique partners then friends then lovers for three years. Nick ended it five years ago seemingly out of nowhere, but maybe because he got a big book deal? Jess has never known and has been in a state of fury ever since. She’s also pissed because this beloved romance novelist never writes a HEA. The audacity! (But for real, it’s not romance without the HEA. I will die on this hill.)
Now because they share a publisher they not only have to attend the Christmas event together, but Jess has to give the award to him. On stage. In front of everyone. This is the first time they’ve clapped eyes on each other since the breakup. My my my.
It actually goes well until Jess finds out there’s no room booked for her, the inn is at capacity, and she can’t leave because there’s a literal blizzard outside. I reckon it’s a good thing Nick overheard that and offers for her to stay with him in his cozy room. Do y’all think they’ll handle the one bed situation well? Hell yeah they do. Eventually.
These two. Jess and Nick. They’re fractious and bantery. The tension is delicious.
Y’all. What a fun little book with all the holiday vibes you want! I listened to this one and the narrators are on point. They do a great job with Jess’s frustration and Nick’s yearning to make things right.
