Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney

5.0

If I hadn't been on vacation when I read this book and had plans, I could have read Conversations with Friends in one sitting. In the same vein as Normal People, Conversations with Friends examines the complexities and intricacies that exist between friends, lovers, and acquaintances.

Something that really drew me into this book is the fact that the main characters are neither likable or unlikable. They are very flawed, but then again, so are most of us. I wanted to embed myself in the character's lives, examining them more and more. Normal People spoke a bit more to my millennial self, but I still related to the dysfunction and yearning to just be seen and loved that is present in Conversations with Friends. Sally Rooney, please never stop writing, because I want to read everything you create.
