The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin

5.0

I picked up this book at my library because it was a Goodreads nominee for non-fiction book of the year and the synopsis sounded wonderful. It didn't disappoint. It was moving and funny, with well-developed characters. What was even more fascinating was how she subtly married the story with literary devices. This quote from the novel says it all really.

"Every word the right one and exactly where it should be. That's basically the highest compliment I can give.”
― Gabrielle Zevin, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry
