What I Should Have Said by R.L. Atkinson

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated

2.0

It was my first military romance novel for a while now, and I was thoroughly disappointed with how it turns out, considering it was a 500-page novel of disappointments.

I truly understand the circumstances the characters had, the introverted and traumatised FMC, the full of responsibilities, and the traumatised military man. I get it.

What my beef was the fact that THE BOOK TRULT WASTED THE POTENTIAL OF PLOT. There are too many misunderstandings, little to no character developments, and the same goes for the absolute igaf parts on the ending. It didn't give justice at all to the conflict and ended fast despite the 500 pages.

Like, I read this in a day, so basically, it's easy to read and like I read this fast to just get over it and hope for the best, so that's that.

I don't know. I'm definitely disappointed, but will I check the 2nd book? I probably would just quench my disappointment or add more salt on the wound.
