This is one of those that follow the strange gl trope of girl obsessed with girl that doesn’t give her the time of today. Combined with a bully romance trope so, it’s just unpleasant all around.
The FMC Rae is obsessively proclaiming her love for Miss Claire despite Claire telling her repeatedly to leave her alone and dumping tea over her, hiding her books, and continuously insulting her. It has the overall effect of making me feel bad for Claire because ultimately the book wants you to think stalking, ogling, and refusing to take no for an answer is cute and funny if it’s a girl doing it to another girl. It’s not.
The sad thing is the world building is kind of interesting here. The isekai concept could’ve been more intriguing and even the romance could’ve worked for me if it was more about her trying to work within the confines of the game to get Claire’s interactions but the FMC is a creep instead. The portion after she becomes her maid was so uncomfortable to read.
