Alone With You in the Ether by Olivie Blake

5.0

"She is in all of his spaces and all of his thoughts. He contemplates formulas and degrees of rationality and they all turn into her. He thinks about time, which has only recently begun, or at least now feels different. He thinks: the Babylonians were wrong; time is made of her."

I could not even describe how this book broke and made me whole at the same time; and if only I could inject this into every fiber of my being, I would.

Alone With You in the Ether is about two characters who navigate love as they deal with their own personal issues. With the overall bizarreness of the atmosphere of the story, it perfectly describes all the quiet and small moments of falling and being in love. But at its core, I feel like what made this book special to me is: the way it showed love in its ugliest, most complicated, unconventional, and yet, beautiful form.
