In Son of the Shadows the enchanting story that began with Daughter of the Forest expands as a new generation is ready for adulthood, but the old beloved characters aren't forgotten either. Indeed, I found this to be just as immersive as it's prequel. The combination of history, romance and fantasy set in this intricately woven world is unlike anything else I've read.
