The Dabbler's Guide to Witchcraft: Seeking an Intentional Magical Path by Fire Lyte

funny informative inspiring lighthearted medium-paced

5.0

This book took me by surprise. The title and cover gave a light-hearted fun vibe, but really it was an incisive look at modern paganism and witchcraft. There were chapters where the author explores cultural appropriation, financial privilege, getting scammed, and the media, and how all of these can impact someone as they begin to dabble in the world of mysticism. He’s all about being realistic and safe, while also enjoying whimsy and magic. I’d recommend this to anyone who is beginning to dabble in witchy things, and I also think this would be a great book for skeptics who want to learn more about paganism, because the author is also skeptical and has a great b.s. detector.
