Re-read: Not my fave of the series (because that will always be Heated Rivalry and Long Game) but I do like Eric as an older protagonist. Something that begins to wear this series down tho is the amount of closeted hockey players who fall in love with the first out guy they encounter. It's not a critique of the book itself, but the series as a whole and how it works as connected works with characters who've been on the page for fictional years at this point. Eric is one of Scott Hunter's (from the first book, Game Changer) best friends and knew he himself was bi, but never felt compelled to be honest with his friend? With anyone? This strains credulity. And is mark against his character. And then, in turn, becomes an uncomfortable way to begin his relationship with Kyle.
