The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas

4.0

This book did not let me down on the spooky, supernatural vibe. This creepy story starts off with Beatriz moving into new husband Rodolfo Solórzano’s hacienda. Rodolfo’s first wife died under mysterious and much debated circumstances. When Beatriz begins hearing voices and having visions, she questions her ability to live in the house.

Part creepy mystery and part love story, The Hacienda is a spellbinding read. I enjoyed reading this one, I only wish I wasn’t left hanging at the end. Perhaps there will be a follow up? A reader can dream.

I added this book to my tbr list over two years ago and finally read it with the push of my bookclub for our January 2025 pick. It did not disappoint.
