I found this book very thought provoking, moving, witty and empowering.
We're taken on a very personal journey through puberty, losing virginity, sexual harassment, breast cancer, having children, feeling invisible and finding contentment. All of these life stages are viewed through the lens of being an average woman with breasts. There's nothing here but real relatable content that anyone can connect with regardless of gender or boob situation.
The illustrations are black and white pen and ink drawings with a certain charm and humour. They are endearing, surprisingly detailed and drawn with affection for the real people that they depict.
Throughout, the sense of humour acts as a lift in the darker moments or to enhance the heavy emotions. It's a joyous read despite the ups and downs that make up life. The fact that the creation of the book forms part of the story is wonderful.
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this little gem.
