Holy fuck I LOVED THIS. This is why I wanted to wait until January to do any best or worst of lists for the year. It was one of my favourites for the year, and no one is more shocked than me. Standalone fantasies are usually the bane of my fucking existence, but this did everything I was hoping it would do. On top of that, YA fantasy had been flopping for me, but this one (and the last couple that I've read) are giving me faith in it again.
