I didn’t think I would love a book in this series more than I loved A Court of Mist and Fury, but Silver Flames takes the spot as my favorite ACOTAR book to date. I’ve always preferred third person limited narration to first person limited narration, so that shift in the narrative style alone was preferable for me even though the first 3 books were very well done 1st person limited narration from Feyre’s POV.

As I’ve said before, I’ve been a Nesta fan from the start. I really identify with her feelings and way of dealing with difficult situations, even before we were given a deeper look into her character in this book. Plus who doesn’t love more Cassian??? The early books in the series focus on Feyre’s trauma from under the mountain, but what I loved about this book is that Nesta and Cassian’s traumas, while set in a fantasy world, are a bit more relatable to the average person. The characters including Emerie, Gwyn, and even Feyre in this book deal with more common occurrences and common struggles which made them easier to connect with in my opinion. And the focus is not on forgetting your trauma or “going back to normal” but learning to live and grow from the things that have shaped you.

Definitely interested to see where the series goes from here. Would love some more Azriel and Mor in the next book. Keeping an eye on Eris, I don’t totally hate him but don’t trust him
