I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. SO. MUCH!!! Seriously, Can’t Help Falling by Courtney Walsh is outstanding. I will always love the opposites-attract trope, but when you add the plain Jane falls for the out-of-her-league hotty, I will love the book all the more! Walsh created a fantastic cast of characters who play to these tropes perfectly. Emmy is an awesome heroine. She is so goofy and weird and quirky. And I love how she sees everything through a literary lens. But I especially love her protective streak. How she sticks up for, and defends, Owen no matter what is super sweet and totally endearing. I love her loyalty! Emmy would make for a rad best friend, and she is without a doubt the perfect woman for Owen. Speaking of Owen, he is my new most-favorite hero. I loved everything about him: the fact he is completely misjudged, the fact he is working so hard to be a good man, and the fact that he wants desperately to be the man Emmy knows he truly is. I also really love his pragmatic side. If Emmy is all about romance and grand gestures, Owen is all about practicality and attentions to details. And this is the major thematic focus of the story — which is more romantic? The sweep-you-off-your-feet gesture or the I-noticed-you-needed-something-so-I-got-it-for-you gesture? Personally, I am on Owen’s side in this matter. Nothing makes my heart go pitter-patter for my husband more than when he sees I am in need and takes care of me. I feel seen and so valuable when he does this. It truly makes me feel loved the way God meant for me to be loved.

Can’t Help Falling is a great read that is totally going on my re-read pile. This is a book I will definitely read again…and again. If you are in the mood for a super sweet, swoony Rom-Com that’s highly engaging and totally unputdownable then you have to get yourself a copy of this book ASAP!
