This book is everything, already on track to be a favorite of the year. I will recommend it to anyone who will listen; Ranita Atwater’s story deserves to be told and read. She showed up and fought for herself every moment of every day. I especially loved the alternating timelines (especially the use of the first and third person!!!), and the thoughtfulness put into Ranita’s recovery, and the repair she put into her relationships (especially with her children). I felt like I knew Ranita and her family by the end of this book. I rooted for her with every page, and I will continue to do so.
