A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout
4.0
Okay, here is where our story really starts to take off! Unlike the slow burn of the first book, this installment jumps right into the action.
As with many romantasy series, our protagonists find themselves at odds despite their undeniable attraction. Cue the longing gazes, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife, and the insistence that they'll never feel the same way again. Right, guys? Sure.
While I might not be as smitten with Hawke as everyone else seems to be, I'm still enjoying the wild ride. It's the kind of book where you just have to go with the flow, let the tension simmer, relish in the payoff, and make sure you've got the next book ready because you'll definitely be dying to find out what happens next. Don't think too hard about it y'all. It's not that deep.
