Blood Sisters by Vanessa Lillie

4.0

We know the history of this country and the Native Americans is not a pretty one and even in present times these are a forgotten people. Many go missing and few are searched for and even less are found.

Syd was a victim to a horrible crime in her childhood and as soon as she could she fled the area but not her roots. She works for the Bureau of Indian affairs bringing to closure to families of the missing, returning items to them and even being the go between of the their world and the white world.

She is working on bones when she gets a call from the director about an unusual discovery in her home town. She feels obligated to return to her hometown to find answers. Things get personal since her sister is currently missing. As she searches for answers she is confronted with past memories that need to be put to rest, finding justice for a horrific crimes years old and bring her sister home.

This was a riveting story, kept my interest but the closer I got to the end the more rushed it felt.
