(Ignore the inexplicable baby blanket cover art of the audiobook version lol.) Since I know it’s unreadable here, the subtitle of this book is “How Microdosing Made a Mega Difference in My Mood, My Marriage, and My Life.” When I heard that Michael Chabon’s wife wrote a book on microdosing LSD, it went straight to my TBR! I really appreciated the feminine, maternal perspective here. It seems like almost all psychedelic texts are written by men. Good texts, for sure, but I loved hearing about Waldman’s views. Her background as a public defender and her experience teaching at Cal about drug policy added another interesting dimension. I loved how she wove together memoir, history, and political commentary, sharing meaningful personal reflections alongside explorations of LSD’s history, current legal status, and possible futures.
Graphic: Drug use
Moderate: Drug abuse and Mental illness
Minor: Suicidal thoughts and Pregnancy
