Likes:
  • SUCH GOOD found family! The "Big Bertha" crew is amazing together and a wonderful found family friend group, but also Émile with his sister, and eventually Christain with his cousin.
  • I really enjoyed how their story is basically a relationship love story that happens completely out of order, but the non-traditional order doesn't make the relationship and love any less valid
  • Christain's growth re: his homophobic family
  • Pining while engaged
  • Christain is absolutely a disaster and a hot mess, but he's such a cute one
------------
trigger warnings:
homophobia: Christain's family is homophobic and cut contact with him when he came out as gay. They suck. Christain spends a portion of the book trying to reconnect with them, which ends with
an attempted reconnection dinner that goes poorly and Christain tells them to "fuck off"
. Also, the other guys in the Big Bertha house have not-great families for similar reasons, but that plays a less prominent role in the book.
