I relish a holiday story with a touch of darkness and twist, and this one didn’t disappoint. Alessandro and his family were mafia assassins. Annie, on the other hand, turned eighteen and ran away from her foster home because her situation was dire.

Our Al is not a gray heroes but a dark villains, and Annie is an innocent. I couldn’t imagine them falling for each other, but they did. Our girl doesn’t know Al is an assassin yet. Being around her made Al question whether his mark he was tailing was innocent. Al faced a difficult decision, and I was disappointed with his choice. 

However, hold on, there are unexpected twists that the author throws in that completely change the story. One part of the twist is that it went from a couple to a throuple. 

After that, the story never became dull. It does have a happy ending.
