I received an ARC from BookSirens, in exchange for an honest review. Thank you BookSirens and Pandora Pierce.
This was a wonderfull world the premmise of course Nissa going of to save a librairy is a dream scenario.
The idea of a bookbtree and flying books, stories comming alive with all kinds of cosy and mistevious caracters is awsome.
The story developed nicely yet i do not understand why a librairy would be so far up a mountain that it would be hard to reach for patrons?
There is a note regarding the writing style. It felt very childish at times. Very explainy and you should not do this, and that is'nt nice, very kindergartenteacher speaking to the point that it was slightly anoying.
The hole rivalry with Jane and bickering like children felt that way. The hole the librairy is scared of kids and vandalisme felt thay way. These are realy childish things and the librairy could have crushed them.
So i did enjoy the cosyness and the idea of the worldbuilding im not sure if i would pick up a second one because of the writing style it felt kinda middlegrade and that includes the insta love romance. It was cute but you certainly need to be in the mood to escape from realisme.
I know these cosy fantasys are low stakes but this feels like caling somthing a problem to explain a motivation that realy is very silly.
