The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara
5.0
Its depiction of war and senseless violence are unforgettable, but ultimately this is a very spiritual, thoughtful, sensitive book; there are incredible, excellent stretches of meditation on loss and love and purpose in this world, which now more than ever is increasingly relevant. It's a painful, wonderful goddamn book that makes you see weariness and hopelessness through the eyes of several American legends, each portrayed perfectly. A close to flawless read.
