Loved this book. Martha Ballard is such a comforting character. So competent, intelligent and kind but also a total 1700s badass. She reminded me of Claire Fraser meets Caroline Ingalls. I love me a good historical fiction and this was excellent despite the author definitely taking many (good) fictional liberties.
