'Twas the Knife Before Christmas by Jacqueline Frost
3.0
Same rating as the previous one, but I think overall I liked it more. The setting is still over the top and unbelievable (that they can do everything they do without a dozen employees for one) but it works well with the whole Christmas theme, in my opinion. Or at least I’m able to roll with it for the sake of the season. This had less annoying romance, though I really wish the whole protective thing was tone down. These cozies heroines really have to stop dating first responders, the dynamic is just not my thing (but it wasn’t the worst either). I did enjoy all the friendships. The book gave me anxiety with the heroine taking on too much and somehow having a little business that she barely takes care of (or work on until dawn but somehow isn’t barely functional afterwards). She is also a little bit annoyingly reckless and not as smart as she could be. I don’t know. It was fine.
