Kingfisher is now officially on my auto-buy author list

For a book that’s not overly long, it really packs a sting in terms of story telling. The imagination behind this fairytale makes for a great adventure with many beloved quest tropes but with their own take

The character work is top tier with them all being unique and brimming with personality. Even though the characters are very different from one another, they make a great dynamic when together. Maria’s determination to save her sister was very heartfelt and of course a big special mention to bone dog

This is somewhat of a dark and twisty fairytale but it’s balanced out with some quite comical and softer moments. The story is also split up into two parts that kept the momentum flowing

I loved how it ended and I think this is a fantastical fairytale not to be missed!
