The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes
5.0
This might end up being my favorite book of 2020... and I've read some good books this year. Having read "The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek," I can say that not only is there not a hint of similarity among these two books (other than the packhorse librarian program), but this book is far superior. Which means a lot, because "Bookwoman" was great! I connected so closely to these characters and experienced so much emotion while reading.
I honestly wasn't sure about this book going in because Moyes is known for fluffier fare, but she handled this superbly. It's just so beautifully written. Every character is masterfully brought to life. I loved every moment.
