Hmm. Everyone said you either love this or hate this and well...I'm very much in the middle. Imma keep it a stack after how I felt about Ali's last books I expected a lillllll more. I really liked this concept and was really looking forward to this book! It read really smooth and the writing was reallllllly good.
However this felt like a paranormal book with romance slightly sprinkled in. The entire time I just wanted more Lowe and Misery action, and it just fell...flat. This book felt more political (between the Weres and Vampyres) than anything else and well. Ehhhhhhh? I just felt super removed from the characters if that makes sense.
Also the Serena plotline? Womp womp. I just couldn't get myself to care at all. Every five seconds it was Serena this Serena that and like... OKAYYYY. We get it
