When you hear that The Tea Girl Of Hummingbird Lane is abouts tea, you may be inclined to think dull thoughts. However, the world of tea provides an engrossing and heart-warming backdrop to Lisa See's story.

The use of language as the protagonist ages was interesting, beginning with simplistic language to more complex, hybrid vocabulary.

I found the characters engaging and well-developed. Everything for them was well paced and the 'necessary' coincidence was created in a realistic way.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I must recommend it.
