Close Kin by Clare B. Dunkle
5.0
I liked this even better than the first book! Dunkle's unorthodox interpretation of the goblins gets its counterpoint in this book, in which Seylin goes to find the last of the elves, feeling that he is more elf than goblin. More is revealed about the history of the disappearance of the elven race. New, compelling characters are introduced and explored. I especially liked Lore-Master Ruby, and the foundling Richard. Sable is pretty cool, too. But the one I come out loving most is Marak--he really is an awesome King! I doubt, for all his conjecture, that Catspaw can ever top him!
