this book had me kicking my little feet in the air. it gave me the same feeling i had reading let it snow as a teen. really sweet and heartwarming. defo one of my fav contemporary romances
i actually love pretty much all the characters (memaw!!!) and they felt fleshed out - the only NPC vibes were andy’s dad and ellie’s mum and honestly, they deserve it.
it had so many great tropes done so wellsecond chance romance, fake dating, ONE BED !!!!
and yeah they fell in love quickly but it just made sense it felt organic, i didn’t feel forced it felt so genuine an raw and if i could trust them to make it into a film without butchering it i would rewatch it repeatedly like i do when harry met sally.
it had so many fun cliches that the author worked into the book seemlessly - loved the whole “miscommunication is for the straights” bit and the honestly game.
love the character developmentso proud of ellie for setting that boundary with her mum!!! yes baby you deserve better!!
i need this to become a series with companion novels with dylan / andrew and the Meredith so i can see the girls’ happily ever after
lastly, paul hollywood is a fantastic name for a dog. it gave paul anka from gilmore girls vibe and i loved it
