My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

3.0

This book was written twenty years ago and I am not sure we have solved the ethical or moral dilemma raised in this book. Anna was conceived for the purpose of being a donor for her sister Kate. It was suppose to be a one time thing using the core blood from the birth. Well Kate doesn't get better and over the years she donates blood, marrow etc until she decides at thirteen she has had enough.

OR as you read through the court scenes, was it Kate who has enough? And don't forget Jesse the forgotten child who acts out in various ways for attention. He really loves his sister but he is the sick one or the donor one so where does he fit.\? We see glimpses when the father thinks it is time to accept things and stop trying to outrace the cancer. But he quickly falls back in line with his wife causing him guilt over choosing one daughter over the other.

This was a solid lead until the end..........................................SPOILER

having anna die so quickly at the made it seem as her life never mattered And her lawyer didn't follow her wishes when he agreed to the organ donation.
