Annnddd I'm done! What a thrilling adventure this book was! All the characters gathered together against one common enemy who actually got mentally wiped out by something even more sinister.
Let's take it from the beginning. We have Sofia, the war orphan from
"This Shattered world" who has escaped to Corinth after the pursue of a notorious hacker, the Knave. Her plans? To destroy LaRoux.
Enter Gideon. A boy with a dark past, a hacker and the one we also met on "This Shattered world" even if it was for a few pages. Both will unite against LaRoux and their race against time determinate the fate of the galaxy.
Told by both POVs we get to know their deeper stories and how those two got to get together. As the plot progress there is a smooth transistion from the pair of Gideon and Sofia to the rest of the characters as all of them come together.
In the final installment of this great trilogy we had to wonder about faith and trust. Two words simple, yet very strong in the human relationships. Can you trust someone even when you have everything to lose? Would you have faith that the outcome can be better than it seems? If you read the book you will understand the questions above.
I liked both Gideon and Sofia. In other reviews I read, it was mentioned that Sofia had a bitchy attitude, but I could understand her reasons behind it. If I had to jump from the one side of the galaxy to the other in order to survive I'd be suspicious too. Gideon offered some good moments of laughter, yet I was surprised when I discovered his connection to Lilac.
Oh Lilac and Traver! This couple can easily lead you to yet another couple who suffered through death! Akiva and Karou if you get what I mean. ;) There is only one extra POV towards the ending of the book and that's Lilac's. It's amazing and I'm going to torture you without spoliers!
And finally the cover's dress. There were some comments about it when the cover was revealed but I believe that the stylist did an amazing job with it. Gideon describes it with great detail in the book and honestly I'd rock if I wore a similar one!
This book was a damn great ending to a series I loved from the beginning leaving me in a sci-fi book slump, wondering: HOW I'LL BE ABLE TO WAIT UNTIL THEIR NEXT BOOK RELEASE?
